Since the 15th, August of the Independence of Modern India in 1947,[1] the Two Nations have maintained a strong relationship as with Republic of India's relations with other Nordic countries.[2]
Republic of India has an embassy in Oslo and honorary consulates in Bergen and Trondheim.[3] Norway has an embassy in New Delhi and three consulates-general in Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai.

In the 18th and 19th centuries, Norway was part of Denmark. During that time, the entity of Danish India existed.
