Donato Curci (born September 12, 1977) is a former Italian soccer player. He is currently coaching with Morris Elite Soccer Club USL 2 & USL Academy. He has master's degree in physical education, UEFA B and Juventus University soccer coach licenses.
Playing career[edit]
Curci signed in August 1992 with Foggia Calcio Serie A, where he played with the U-15 Academy team. In 1994 he played with Campobasso Calcio (Serie D) and in 1995 he played with U.S. Frenter Larino Calcio (Serie D). In his career Curci played with different teams such as U.S. Lucera Calcio, U.S. Audace Cerignola, U.S. San Salvo, and U.S. Sab. Riccia where he scored 16 goals in 21 games. He also played with the Regional Selection of Molise in the National Tournament in San Salvo.
Coaching career[edit]
Curci joined as Assistant Coach with Foggia Calcio Serie C with the U-15 Academy team, which was coached by Pietro Maiellaro former Italian soccer player. Curci had his first experience as Assistant Coach with adult players in 2004 with San Giorgio Apricena Calcio, which was coached by Ferdinando De Matthaeis, former New York Cosmos player. In 2006 he worked as Assistant Coach with U.S.Lucera Calcio [1] his hometown. In 2010 he worked as Assistant Coach with Manduria Calcio coached by Giuseppe Mosca former Italian soccer player. In 2014 Curci moved to Miami where he worked as Assistant Coach and Strength and Conditioning Specialist with Miami United FC,[2] [3] head coached was Ferdinando De Matthaeis. With Miami United FC [4] [5] Curci posted a record 7-3-0 and won the NPSL Sunshine Conference 2014 [6] [7], and played the NPSL Southern Regional Finals against Chattanooga FC. After the NPSL post season, Miami United FC competed in an international friendly with Italian clubs Catania Calcio, Brescia Calcio and Novara Calcio, where Miami United FC won two of the three games. After the international friendly, Curci joined Foggia Calcio Lega Pro as Assistant Coach and worked with Roberto De Zerbi[8] , former Italian soccer player and current manager of FC Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine Premier League). In 2016 Curci joined TSF Academy in New Jersey, directed by Luis Carlos Mendoza former American soccer player and former Venezuela national team player. With TSF Academy Curci worked as coach of the Youth Development Academy. In 2017 Curci joined Morris Elite Soccer Club [9] owned by Vincenzo Bernardo, former American soccer player, where he worked as coach of Morris Elite Premier Program. In 2018 Curci joined New York Red Bulls, where he worked as coach of Youth Development Program. In 2021 Curci re-joined Morris Elite Soccer Club [9] (coached by Javier Velasco former soccer player) as USL2 & USL Academy Assistant Coach. In 2022 Curci has become Morris Elite [9] USL2 & USL Academy Head Coach.
