Donncha O'Cearbhaill is an Irish university student. His father is John Carroll, an independent Offaly county councillor formerly a member of Sinn Féin.[1]

In 2011 he won an Irish Olympiad medal in the field of computer science, while attending St. Brendan's Community School.[2]

In September 2011 he was questioned by Gardaí about the compromising of the Fine Gael website.[3]

On March 6, 2012 he was arrested[1][4][5][6][7] in relation to the leak of a January 17 conference call between the FBI and the UK Serious Organised Crime Agency.[8] He was released after 24 hours without charge.[3]
