Dos Orientales is a Latin jazz music band that was nominated for the Latin Grammy in 2019 under Best Latin Jazz/Jazz Album category.
History
Since the mid-90s, the duo has performed a variety of shows in Japan, Korea, Germany, Spain, Malaysia, Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile, in various formats, participating in shows together with Takamasa Segi, Mio Matsuda, Toninho Horta, Pedro Aznar, Aska Kaneko, Lisa Ono, among others. Since 2007, Dos Orientales has made 13 consecutive tours in Japan[1].
In 2013, a documentary about the duo began filming, which was filmed in Uruguay and Japan. It premiered in both countries in November 2018 under the direction of Sofía Casanova [2].
In 2016, the Embassy of Japan in Uruguay awarded them a distinction for the contribution and friendship ties that both have cultivated[3].
In 2018, a performance by Lisa Ono and Dos Orientales was held at the Heiwa Civic Park Noh Theater in Ōita Prefecture, Japan. In the same year, the 3rd Tour of Uruguay was also held, appearing at the celebration of the 110th anniversary of Japanese migration to this country and the 50th-anniversary ceremony of AYAX, and Toyota Uruguay, among other activities.
In 2019, Dos Orientales performed at the Rugby World Cup Kamaishi Fun Zone in Japan.

The band has published three albums: "Dos Orientales" (2008), winner of the Graffiti Award and pre-nominated for the Latin Grammy in 2012. "Orienta" (2011) also won the Graffiti Award and was published in Japan, Uruguay, and Argentina. "Tercer Viaje" (2016) won the Graffiti Award and was nominated for the Latin Grammy in 2019 under Best Latin Jazz/Jazz Album category, and was published in Japan and Uruguay.
