Doyma GmbH & Co (stylized as DOYMA GmbH & Co) headquartered in Oyten is a German medium-sized manufacturer and claims to be the market leader in products that seal or isolate buildings against the penetration of water, fire and flue gas.[1] These include duct systems for pipes and cables, single and multi-compartment building services duct systems for supply and disposal lines and products for preventive structural fire protection.
History[edit]
In 1960, Hans-Ullrich Ihlenfeldt founded his first business in Bremen with a focus on the production of pipe ducts and building services duct systems. In 1980 the company moved from Bremen to Oyten. In 1990 and 1993 his two daughters, Kerstin Ihlenfeldt-Wulfes and Tanja Kraas (née Ihlenfeldt), joined the company. In 1995 certification in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 was carried out. In 1997 the production of building services duct systems for one- and two-family houses began. In 2000 René Hartwig took over the management of the company. In 2010 fire protection systems were included in the product range. The company currently (2018) has 15 representative offices in Europe.[2]
IWK Holding[edit]
In 2018 the associate company IWK Holding was founded for the areas of sanitary, heating and air conditioning technology, civil engineering, building technology and energy supply. It includes Doyma GmbH & Co in Oyten, Hameln and Vienna, Dr. Schwarzkopf & Krug GmbH & Co. KG in Oyten, Franken Plastik Holding GmbH in Fürth and UGA System-Technik GmbH & Co. KG in Herbrechtingen.
Sealing systems for ducts[edit]
The company's main field of activity is the design and manufacture of annular seals. Depending on the type of building utilization, the service life of these sealing and duct systems can be up to 50 years.[3]
Building services duct systems[edit]
Various pipes and cables for supply and disposal are safely introduced into buildings via building services duct systems as part of the house connection. Doyma offers both individual and multi-compartment ducts.
Fire protection systems for ducts[edit]
The sealing of all supply and disposal lines that penetrate the walls provides protection against the progression of the harmful effects of a fire.[4] Doyma manufactures sealing systems, such as fire protection collars, that prevent the progression of fire, smoke and gas through existing pipe and cable ducts that penetrate ceilings and walls.[5]
Special sealing systems[edit]
Doyma also manufactures special constructions, for example for airport towers[6] and natural gas compressor stations [7], and has numerous patents on products and the materials used, for example for the sealing of core bores [8] or the isolation of cooling pipes.[9]
