Dragonboat is a private Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company that provides a comprehensive product portfolio management tool[1] for strategizing[2], prioritization, and product delivery.

Uses[edit]

Dragonboat helps companies to take a strategic approach to planning and delivering their portfolio roadmap.[3] The platform helps teams to track and predict software project schedules and risks, automate reporting for stakeholders, and connect initiatives with OKRs. Commonly the Dragonboat tool is used in conjunction with product portfolio frameworks like Responsive Product Portfolio Management.[4] It can be utilized as a standalone tool or via third-party integrations such as JIRA[5],Azure DevOps[6], Asana[7], Zendesk, and Slack.[8]

Users can create a standardized project prioritization framework using Dragonboat’s visualizations. Typically, the process includes capturing and managing product feature requests, using data to create outcome-based roadmaps, planning product launches with timeline views, and measuring outcomes to influence the next product strategy. The tool can be used by Chief Product Officers, Product Operations[9], Digital Transformation, or IT Portfolios.

History[edit]

Dragonboat was founded by Becky Flint (CEO)[10] in 2018[11] who conceptualized the idea from her experiences working at PayPal, BigCommerce, Shutterfly, and Feedzai[12]. Dragonboat was founded and is headquartered in Silicon Valley, California.

Dragonboat's customers include Chime, F5 Networks, Rapyd, Miro, and Nium.[15]

In December 2021, Dragonboat raised $12M Series A led by Insight Partners[16] and participation of existing investors[17]. At the time, 20-employee Dragonboat had raised $15M in total venture capital.[18]

In February 2022, Dragonboat announced the addition of Melissa Perri to its advisory board.[19] Melissa Perri is the world-renowned product leadership expert and author of Escaping the Build Trap.

As of January 2023, the team is spread across 2 continents and 5 timezones, with deployments across 20+ countries.[20]
