RemotePass (company)[edit]
RemotePass is a software company that develops technology and services to support remote businesses and remote workers.
The RemotePass product is an all-in-one platform for companies to hire, onboard, pay, and retain remote independent contractors and employees, without needing to establish local entities. For remote teams, RemotePass offers an application that gives access to financial services and benefits from anywhere.
History[edit]
RemotePass was founded in 2019 by Kamal Reggad and Karim Nadi who met at an event in Dubai as SafarPass — a business travel platform that focused on helping companies to centralize their business travel and expenses in the MENA region.[1] Reggad had previously founded & scaled Hmizate, an e-commerce platform, in Casablanca in 2011, then exited to a local holding company in 2018.
SafarPass raised a pre-seed round in the Summer of 2019. However, after six months of traction, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic caused travel to start to collapse. In early 2020, owing to the severity of the pandemic and the instability of the travel industry, SafarPass pivoted, and in three months built a new product enabling businesses to hire remote teams in full compliance. The beta version of RemotePass launched in September 2020 and the company changed its name.
In December 2021, RemotePass completed a pre-Series A1 raise led by BECO Capital with participation from Wamda Capital, Khawarizmi VC, Flat6Labs, and Wealth Well, along with a syndicate of Saudi investors.[2]
In August 2022, it completed a pre-Series A2 round by existing investors and focused on developing its product, enabling global businesses to hire, onboard, pay, and retain contractors and employees in more than 150 countries. In December 2022, RemotePass launched the Super App for Remote Teams, an all-in-one mobile app for remote workers to manage their contracts, payments, benefits, and finances.[3]
