Dreamz Unlimited is an entertainment company based in Dimapur, Nagaland that primarily produces short videos on YouTube and also produces feature films. They began activity in 2008 and was formally incorporated as a company in 2016. The group rosed to popularity with their YouTube short film The Demand released on 2 January 2017. In May 2019, Dreamz Unlimited became the first Naga YouTube channel to receive the Silver Play Button.[2]

Background[edit]

Formed in 2008 after attending a workshop of National School of Drama in New Delhi.[1]

On May 11, 2017, Dreamz Unlimited rolled out the first ever film festival in Nagaland with collaboration with the state government.[3]

Today Dreamz Unlimited comprises about 10–11 young people, some of them works full-time while some are still students.[1]

YouTube channel[edit]

Dreamz Unlimited started with its own YouTube channel on December 22, 2016 with videos mainly based on contemporary social issues. Together, they switch between presenting plays on stage and short acts on YouTube.[4]

As of May 2020, the channel has over 407,000 subscribers with over 86 million channel views.

Awards[edit]

In 2019, Dreamz Unlimited was awarded the 17th Governor's Award 2019 in Arts, Music and Literature on the occasion of the 73rd Independence Day in the category of Literature and Arts respectively at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima.[6]
