Duality Technologies is an American technology company specializing in privacy-preserving data analytics, machine learning, and query processing using cryptography.[1][2]

History[edit]

Duality Technologies was founded in 2016[3][4][5] and began with open-source homomorphic encryption library PALISADE. Duality Technologies received Series A funding in 2019 (led by Intel Capital)[6] and Series B funding in 2021 (led by LG Technology Ventures).[7]

In 2017, Duality Technologies co-founders and IBM, Microsoft, and NIST researchers formed an open industry/government/academia consortium, HomomorphicEncryption.org, that maintains a community security standard for homomorphic encryption.[8][9]

In 2021, Duality Technologies contracted with DARPA to develop a hardware accelerator for homomorphic encryption.[10]

Duality products have been used in healthcare to process sensitive data.[11][12][13]
