The Era of Omissions is a novel by the Moroccan writer Mohamed Choukri who was born in a rural city called Beni Shaker in Morocco, year 1993. As he lived a difficult childhood not to forget that he was a displaced as a child foot to Tangiers, after his village suffered from hunger and war. In addition, he embodied some of his experience and suffering in his novel and works. Adding that his works were also characterized by realistic and humane narration, as well as topics that expresses suffering such as poverty and misery. [1]

About the Novel[edit]

This novel tells the story of the oppression of the women in their society and how they have become a tool for satisfying instinct rather than a cultural structure that contributes to the development of the next generation[2]. In addition, Mohamed Choukri also discusses the transformations that Moroccan society has undergone as well as how women have always been the victims that reflects on the mistakes against its children.
