ESI Records is an American independent record label that was founded in 2020.[1] ESI is headquartered in Los Angeles, California and has offices in Los Angeles and Boston.[2] Since its inception, ESI Records has been home to artists and bands such as Val Astaire, Shallow Pools, and Nikki Hayes (singer).

History[edit]

ESI Records was founded by Brian Joyce in 2020, and is distributed by The Orchard (company).[3]

The label's first artist to join the ranks was Joyce's own moniker; indie pop act, Val Astaire.[4] Releasing his debut album Fever Dreams shortly later that Summer. [5][6]

ESI's first foray into R&B came with signing Nikki Hayes (singer). A solo artist hailing from Chicago, Illinois praised for her "powerhouse vocals".[7]

In early 2021, ESI added Boston based indie pop band Shallow Pools to the roster, and released a single on January 15, 2021 titled "ice water" with a music video released the same day.[8]

Later that Spring, ESI added Noir & B artist Sophie Coran, hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[9][10]Her first single with the label,S P A C E, garnered attention from UPROXX, praising her for "seamlessly melding jazz and R&B into something truly fun and unique."[11]
