The Eagles–Vikings rivalry is a rivalry between the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings. [1]

The rivalry has many back-and-forths of team dominance - the Vikings dominating the 1970's, the Eagles the 1990's and 2000's, and the Vikings in the 2010's.

The Vikings lead the all-time series 15-14. The Eagles have won all four playoff games against the Vikings.

Memorable Moments[edit]

  • In the 2004 playoffs, the Eagles defeated the Vikings 27-14 in the NFC divisional round. The Eagles advanced to the NFC Championship game for the fifth year in a row.
  • In the 2008 playoffs, the 9-6-1 Eagles traveled to Minneapolis for the NFC divisional game against the 10-6 Vikings. The game would go back-and-forth between Vikings quarterback Tavares Jackson and Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb. The Eagles would pull away late for a 26-14 win. The Eagles would go on to lose the NFC Championship game.
  • In 2016, the 5-0 Vikings traveled to Philadelphia for an early-season game. Entering the game, the Vikings were considered the best team in the NFL. The Eagles handled the Vikings in a sloppy 21-10 victory in which each team had four turnovers. The Vikings would finish the season 3-7 to miss the playoffs and the Eagles would finish 7-9.
  • In 2017, the 13-3 Vikings traveled to Philadelphia for the NFC Championship game against the 13-3 Eagles. The Vikings were coming up a thrilling win against the New Orleans Saints. Although the Vikings would get off to a quick 7-0 lead, the Eagles would score 38 unanswered points to throttle the Vikings. Eagles fans were seen doing the "Foles Chant", a chant that both celebrated their starting quarterback's dominating performance while also mocking the Vikings and their Skol Chant. Vikings fans had been seen doing the Skol Chant earlier in the day in front of the Rocky Statue in Philadelphia. The Eagles would go on to win the Super Bowl in the Vikings home stadium, US Bank Stadium.
  • In 2018, the teams rematched in Philadelphia for a primetime game. The Vikings held off a resurgent Eagles for a 23-21 victory. The game was an important revenge game for the Vikings after the defeat the season prior in the NFC Championship game.
