Edwin Kubzar (Hindi: एडविन क़ुबज़र) (born 23 January 1995) is an Indian model and singer.[1] He was the winner of song cover category of K-POP India Contest 2013.
Biography[edit]
Kubzar was born in Mokokchung, Nagaland, and lived in Dimapur, India. Kubzar belongs to the Ao Naga tribe, one of the major Naga tribes. His mother is of Anglo-Indian descent and English ancestry. He attended Lima Aier Memorial School. He has an older brother and sister. Kubzar currently lives in Delhi, India.

Kubzar auditioned for the inaugural K-Pop Cover Dance/Song Contest 2013 in association with Korean Cultural Centre (India), a department under Embassy of the Republic of Korea.[2] His decision to participate was sudden, “I didn’t think of anything. I just went ahead and did it.” Kubzar was adjudged the Winner of vocal category.[3][4] Kubzar says he is influenced by everything he has ever listened to, being a fan of a range of pop music. Kubzar took many different artists as an influence.

Modelling[edit]

Kubzar was discovered by Vogati Talent & Entertainment founder Sikhar Sidharth in 2013.[6][7] Having caught the eye of Savino Yhome, he later signed up with the agency. Kubzar eventually moved to Delhi to begin his modeling career. He has appeared in ads commercial and further advertising shoot for Aircel, Jabong, Fastrack, Gionee and The Connect Studio.
Music[edit]
Kubzar began posting several videos of himself singing covers of other pop stars' on YouTube, including Nick Jonas, One Direction etc. Prior to winning the K-POP Contest India, Kubzar soon built up a fan following. He might continue to be the reigning K-POP Idol in India, but Kubzar is at work cutting a new single.
