Introduction[edit]
ekincare is a Hyderabad based healthcare company that helps users with a healthcare journey using their health data and provides timely interventions. The company also works with the Insurance sector to offer personalized products to its customers with the help of data and analytics.[3]
History[edit]
ekincare was founded by Kiran Kalakuntla in 2014. It was built out of his personal problem, where NRIs (Non-Resident Indians) were not able to help their parents keep a proper tab on their health. Kiran was in Seattle, USA while his parents were in Hyderabad, India.
His problem further aggravated when his father had gone through surgery without even knowing the root cause of a problem and why the surgery was done. This made him work on a solution where NRIs can monitor the health of their family members while staying away. [4][5]
Software Services[edit]
The platform is a health services aggregator where users can avail services such as health checks, doctor consultations, medicine delivery, etc through their mobile. It offers an end to end wellness platform that integrates medical records, healthcare services, and leverages predictive analytics to design wellness initiatives and in-turn reduce the healthcare costs.
Free Telemedicine Services During Covid-19 Pandemic[edit]
In March 2020, ekincare initiated free telemedicine services for corporate users across India to help them get timely health care during the lockdown period announced by the government during the COVID-19 pandemic. This was supported by a symptom analyzer tool which is a self-check tool for people to understand if they are affected by COVID-19 or not.[8] [9]
