Elnaz Golrokh (Persian: الناز گلرخ‎; born in Tehran, 2 February , 1986) is an Iranian make-up artist, model, blogger and singer.[1][2][3] She initially gained fame in 2016, due to the Iranian government wanting to arrest her for not wearing a headscarf on her online social media posts, but she flea the country[4] She was featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine Middle East in October 2017 and Maxim Magazine in 2021.[5][6]

Personal life[edit]

Golrokh was born in Tehran, Iran and she graduated from college in 2008.[7] In 2016, Golrokh moved to Dubai with her husband (then boyfriend) Hamid Fadaei[8] after the government authorities in Iran pressured them about online posts of Golrokh not wearing a headscarf.[9][10][11][12]

Career[edit]

Golrokh began her career as a make-up artist at just 18 years old in the Middle Eastern country but quickly became a local phenom and by the age of 20 she opened up her own salon. At the time, it performed so well With over 3 million followers on social media, Elnaz is among the most popular make-up artists in Dubai.[13] With over 10 years’ experience in the world of beauty, she also has a star studded client list, some of whom include, popular Iranian actresses, Mahnaz Afshar, Tannaz Tabatabaei and Sahar Dolatshahi . Elnaz was also the first ever Iranian make-up artist to create online tutorials on her social media platforms, inspiring beauty enthusiasts around the world . in 2017 she held the first ever make-up masterclass in the middle of the sea she win cosmopolitan beauty awards 2017 for best make-up artist also she was hand picked by famous british make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury for a make-up tutorial and face model in 2017.[7]

In 2020, she released an English music video on Youtube along with her husband Hamid Fadaei, which trended at #19 on Youtube charts.[3]

In September 2021, she was nominated for USA Today influencer awards in the International Makeup Artist of the Year category.[14]

Brand collaboration[edit]

Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, Dolce Gabbana, LVMH and beauty industry giant L’Oreal made Elnaz the global face of their brands and according to websites she was the first ever Iranian model and beauty blogger to represent their brands at that level.Elnaz also hired by Dior to collaborate on a new range of cosmetics along with Bella Hadid.[15][16]
