Elyes Ghariani (born June 2, 1958) is a Tunisian diplomat.

Life[edit]

Ghariani was educated at the Pushkin Institute in Moscow, the Institut Bourguiba des Langues Vivantes in Tunis, and the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva. In 1982, he entered the service of the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Assignments abroad took him as secretary to the Tunisian embassy in Bonn, to Germany, and to the Tunisian office at the European Union in Brussels. From 2008 to 2009, he was director for the European Union at the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2011, he became Tunisian ambassador to Germany and held the post until 2014.[1][2] He was then made Director General of Tunisia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2016, he became Tunisian ambassador to the Netherlands.[3]

In 2020, he became advisor in charge of diplomatic affairs to Tunisian President Hichem Mechichi.[4]
