Endor AG was a German electronics company founded in 1997 and headquartered in Landshut, Bavaria. The company manufactured and marketed sim racing game peripherals mainly under the Fanatec brand.
History[edit]
Endor AG was established in October 1997 by Thomas Jackermeier, who recognized the importance of high-quality input devices for PC games. He sold his wholesale biking store to finance the company, which initially sold various PC peripherals. The company's first major success came with the Le Mans sim racing wheel for PC, leading to the development of officially licensed wheels for the PlayStation system, including the Speedster 2 and Speedster 3 wheels.
On June 27, 2006, Endor went public and traded on multiple stock exchanges, including the Munich Stock Exchange and the Stuttgart Stock Exchange.[1]
On March 28, 2024, Endor's board dismissed CEO Thomas Jackermeier.[2]
On May 9, 2024, Corsair Gaming intended to acquire Endor AG, including the Fanatec brand, pending regulatory approval.[3]
Products[edit]
Endor, through the Fanatec brand, manufactured sim racing game peripherals such as racing wheels, shifters, pedals, and cockpits. These products were compatible with most racing games, including those based on the World Rally Championship, Formula 1, and NASCAR.
Sponsorships[edit]
Fanatec has been involved in real-world motorsport competitions. In July 2018, Fanatec became the official partner for Formula 1, sponsoring the F1 Esports Series.[4]
In January 2021, the SRO Motorsports Group named Fanatec as the title sponsor for the GT World Challenge.[5]
