Engo Eyewear
Engo Eyewear is a company based in France, that specializes in lightweight augmented reality eyewear with heads-up displays (HUDs) for endurance athletes[1][2]. Engo began in 2021 as a branch of MICROOLED, a manufacturer of near-eye micro-displays.
They provide smart glasses that display real-time performance data directly in the athlete's field of view, aiming to enhance training and competition by eliminating the need to look down at devices like watches or cycling computers. The same technology is also used in other highly competitive sports like sailing.[3]
Their products, such as the ENGO 2 and ENGO 2 Photochromic, utilize ActiveLook technology, integrating AMOLED microdisplays.
The eyewear is designed to be lightweight (e.g., ENGO 2 standard size weighs 36g), offers long battery life (up to 12 hours), is water-resistant, and includes features like touchless gesture control to switch data screens. Unlike many other smart AR glasses, the display is located near the nose[4]. They are compatible with various training devices from brands like Garmin, Apple, and Android.
