Epicflow is an online project management tool for managing many projects at the same time, previously known as Flow Multi-Project Management (Flow MPM). Epicflow was designed by GLOW Management Nederland B.V. in collaboration with the HYS Enterprise software development team.
The Epicflow software is enriched with analytics that assist project management experts in predicting the impact and feasibility of adding a new project to the pipeline. It was developed to solve issues of multi-project management, reducing overload, preventing planning overhead, proper resource allocation and setting priorities. The objective of this project management application is to simplify planning and avert the risk of project delays and cost escalations, thus leading to better project outcomes.

Science-Based Flow Approach[edit]
Dutch researchers Albert Ponsteen and Jan Willem Tromp along with IT experts Yuri Warczynski and Hans Uithol contributed their knowledge,[11][12] based on a half century of combined experience, to Epicflow. Convinced that most PM solutions were designed to fit single project environments, Ponsteen and Tromp interviewed 4,000 business experts about the challenges that project managers encounter when running many projects at the same time.[13]
The results of their investigation showed that project management experts lacked software features that could regulate workloads, set priorities, and reduce planning overhead. To meet the needs of project management experts, Ponsteen and Tromp modified critical chain project management (CCPM), adding resource buffers to the software. In tandem with their research findings, CCPM formed the basis for Epicflow’s scientific algorithm and its features.[14][15]
Software and Features[edit]
The software consists of analytical graphs for visualizing project performance. A historical load graph illustrates the optimal output for team performance, and future load graphs turn red when employees either become overloaded or have spare capacity. The Epicflow software also includes prioritized task lists for aligning work across many projects. Epicflow is applicable in various multi-project environments: engineering, construction, finance, shipbuilding, and more. It is suitable for implementing both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Epicflow’s approach to running multiple projects is based on the perspective of resource availability. The scientists behind this multi-project management service position it as the next-generation of CCPM software, including both resource and time buffers to track and control project performance.[16]
Epicflow works in tandem with such project management tools as MS Project, Jira, CA Clarity, TOPdesk, and Primavera, upgrading them for multi-project environments.[17]
