Epsillion Software is a Document Automation company. The company makes Microsoft Windows software and Microsoft Office Addins that allow users to automate reports, contracts, academic articles, presentations, webpages, emails, and Kindle books. Business.com named Epsillion among the Best Document Management Software Of 2019, along with a number of other companies including IBM, Oracle, Xerox, and Canon.[1]
History and Size[edit]
Epsillion Software was founded by Ian Saxon in 2016.[2] The Chief Software Engineer is Andrey Popov. Epsillion Software is a privately held Canadian corporation with fewer than 50 directors.[3] In 2019, Business.com listed 54 companies in a "List of the The Best Document Management Software of 2019", and Epsillion Software was included on that list.[4] Epsillion Software became a Microsoft Partner in December 2018.[5]
Competitors and Market Position[edit]
Epsillion Software's competitors include HotDocs, webmerge, Windward Studios, and ActiveDocs. Epsillion's website states that it does the following things differently from its competitors:[6]
- content flows freely from page to page rather than using "fixed" templates
- users create documents using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel Add-Ins as well as a desktop application
- the software uses a point-and-click Microsoft Word based API, which allows users to create conditional logic without knowing any coding languages
Operating System Compatibility[edit]
Epsillion Software is compatible with Microsoft Windows. It is not compatible with any Apple or Unix operating systems.
Limitations[edit]
Limitations of Epsillion Software's document automation application include:
- the system is proprietary, which means that users cannot view or modify the underlying code used to generate documents
- there is no decision tree functionality, as some document automation packages offer
- documents must be processed on a cloud server owned by Epsillion Software, which may not be suitable for companies that require all documents to be located behind their firewall
