Eric Gandelin (born 12 March 1977)[1] is a French engineer and the current chief designer of Alfa Romeo Racing's Formula 1 team. He was responsible for the Swiss team's car projects including the (Sauber) C33, C34 and C35, the latter together with British engineer Mark Smith.
Gandelin previously worked for the Prost team before moving to Sauber, where he spent a long period as head of concept and was very closely linked to the design office. Gandelin was promoted to chief designer at Sauber in mid-2013 as a replacement for Matt Morris, who left that position to join McLaren.
Sauber's Formula 1 team was renamed Alfa Romeo Racing in early 2019. However, ownership and management of the team remained unchanged and independent.
