Eric Rivera
Eric Rivera (born Olympia, Washington) is an American chef and entrepreneur.[1][2]
Career[edit]
Rivera enrolled in culinary school[which?]. He subsequently got a position alongside the chef Grant Achatz at Alinea.[3] After three years he moved on to Seattle’s Huxley Wallace Collective, where he opened the Thompson Hotel Seattle, plus four restaurants. Here he took up a personal project, created 15-course tasting menus[4]. Then he founded Addo, as a pop-up enterprise and locales in both Ballard and Capitol Hill, Seattle.[5][6][7]
He advocates for restaurant sector transformation to address diversity, appropriation, and exploitation.[8] Rivera and Emahlea Wilcher discuss cuisine and technology on the Extra Spicy podcast.[9][10]
Rivera produces 12-course meals in private houses, creates electronic books and sells Puerto Rican spices online.[11]
