Evil-Lyn is a supervillainess in the Masters of the Universe toy line and the accompanying cartoon series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.[3] An evil witch who aids Skeletor as his second-in-command with her powers of darkness,[4] she hopes to seize her master's powers and rule over Eternia herself.

Character history[edit]

Action figure[edit]

Evil-Lyn was introduced into the Masters of the Universe toyline in 1983 as a female character for the Evil Warriors. Envisioned as an evil warrior-goddess and counterpart to Teela, the original figure has bright yellow skin.

1980s Filmation cartoon[edit]

With her intelligence and magic skills, Evil-Lyn is often left in charge when Skeletor is away from Snake Mountain. Voice actress Linda Gary portrayed her with perniciousness and refinement, making her a more sophisticated villain compared to others. She possesses no warrior skills but compensates with her expertise in magic and witchcraft.

Masters of the Universe (1987)[edit]

In the 1987 live-action film, Evil-Lyn is Skeletor's right-hand woman. Played by Meg Foster, she shares a romantic connection with Skeletor. Although she attempts to stand closer to Skeletor, he quickly deflects her efforts. In the final stages of the film, she deserts Skeletor after he absorbs the power of the universe without sharing it with her.

2002 series[edit]

Evil-Lyn returns in the 2002 relaunch, with an expanded background. She is revealed to be the daughter of the Faceless One, who disapproves of her using her talents for evil. The series explores her disloyalty to Skeletor, as she forms a secret alliance with Kobra Khan to free King Hiss and the Snake Men.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation[edit]

In Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Evil-Lyn supplants Skeletor as leader of his armies following his apparent death, bringing peace to Eternia.[5] After unknowingly freeing him and He-Man from their prisons, she initially resumes serving him. Her backstory reveals she was born into poverty and almost cannibalized by her parents before being recruited by Skeletor.
