Eyestalk

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Eyestalk is an threat you can encounter in The Outdoors

Method

When you open a door, if you see a birch tree with eye squiggles on it, there is a chance that Eyestalk will spawn within 20 rooms, during this crescendo, the world will slowly turn darker and entity attacks will get more common. When you reach Eyestalk's room, entity attacks will completely stop until you reach the end of the room. You can tell this happens when the room you are in is an abandoned clearing with a single birch log in the middle of it. Eyestalk will present itself and conduct it's band to all attack you, during this boss fight, you will have to deal with many entities at once, such as: Snare, Surge, Bramble, Pandemonium, and Mandrake. This part is known as The Ridge and entity attacks will be very common, most entities will also be buffed, such as Snare being able to eat Pandemonium, Surge attacking crouching players, Bramble detecting movement, and Mandrake eating players whole. Upon reaching the end of the Ridge, Eyestalk will rip your heart out, followed by squishing it many times, claiming that you'll always come back. Groundskeeper interrupts Eyestalk, making Eyestalk enraged, Eyestalk questions why the Groundskeeper is here, before the Groundskeeper disintegrates Eyestalk. Groundskeeper reminds Eyestalk to Stick to the Script, before awarding all alive players the badge of the same name.

Strategy

During the Ridge, There are no visual cues for node monsters in The Ridge, meaning that you must rely on audio cues. Using headphones or increasing your volume is recommended. Take your time. The Ridge, while short, is much more difficult due to the darkness and frequent monster spawns. Unlike other node monsters, Pandemonium can spawn only once. Players who cannot find a hiding spot in time should move to the right side of the room before the node monster reaches the end. It is advised to do Eyestalk last, since beating the boss fight will trigger the Stick to the Script ending. It is advised to drink a Starlight Jug right before the Ridge, as the faster you finish the Ridge, the funner it is.

Information

Players who are too far behind during the Ridge will lose their run, since the Ridge despawns rooms 1-2 rooms behind, will get attacked by Glitch instead of Void, since Void is unable to spawn during this challenging section, and since Glitch plays a large role in the Stick to the Script ending. Eyestalk appears exclusively in the Outdoors subfloor, as the Stick to the Script ending does not appear in the Trick or Treat Vision.
