Fabian Geyrhalter (born January 12, 1975) is an Austrian brand strategist, creative director, author, mentor and speaker. He is the Founder and CEO of FINIEN, a brand consultancy headquartered in Long Beach, California.
Career[edit]
Fabian Geyrhalter attended Art Center College of Design from 1994 - 1997 and graduated in Communication Design and Advertising. He then worked as Creative Director at Insyght and as Creative Lead at Genex. In 2001 he founded Geyrhalter Design, a Santa Monica, California based branding and graphic design agency working with clients such as The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation,[1] Goodwill,[2] W Hotels, Evolution Juice, Simple Green, John Varvatos, Korn/Ferry International, Acura, Konami, MGM, MTV, Sony, United Artists, LAPD, Brandman University, USC and the City of Los Angeles.
In 2001 Geyrhalter became a member of the International Association of the Visual Arts and was invited to judge the annual Communicator Awards, Davey Awards, and W3 Awards. Geyrhalter became a judge for international design competitions and judged the Best Brand Awards (2015), Creativity Awards (2012, 2014) and the K-Design Awards (2017) to name a few.
Between 2004 and 2009 Geyrhalter taught various classes about design as an adjunct professor at Art Center College of Design[2] and the University of Southern California (USC).
In 2011 Geyrhalter Design changed its name to Geyrhalter & Co.
In 2013 he re-positioned Geyrhalter Design into FINIEN, a Long Beach, California, based brand consultancy focused on brand creation.[3] Since inception, FINIEN has worked on projects for clients such as Jukin Media,[4] Vimmia,[5] Honeywell, Kaplan University and Warner Brothers. As part of that transformation, Geyrhalter wrote How to Launch a Brand (ISBN 978-0989646130 Search this book on .), a book catered to startup entrepreneurs, describing the optimal brand creation process.[6][7][8] Writing and lecturing on the topics of brand strategy and design became a bigger part of Geyrhalter's professional life, and speaking at universities,[9] conferences,[10] and accelerators in several countries.[11][12] In 2013 he became a mentor at the Silicon Valley-based startup accelerator program, Founder Institute. Since 2014 he serves as an advisory board member to the Graphic Design and Interaction Design departments of Santa Monica College.
