Growing up in Budapest, Hungary, he started learning classical guitar and music theory at the age of 4. Throughout his school years, he engaged in various musical activities, such as school band performances and music-academy concerts, at which time he also started learning to play the drums and the piano. During his university period in Amsterdam, Faekt recorded and produced many singles and albums (at that time under the artist name A-D-M-T), most notable of which are the Oblivion EP by Hungarian singer-songwriter GrayC[2] and the Shelter EP by German solo artist Aldo[3]. During his last year at university, he created the artist collective Adam Toth Records[4], under which Aldo, GrayC and other artists have also released music.

In 2020, He moved to Seoul, South Korea, to expand the collective Adam Toth Records and find new collaborating artists. In early 2021, he started releasing music with South Korean singer-songwriter and composer Kanet[5] (Seung-Ho Yoo), who quickly became Faekt's main collaborating artist. Faekt and Kanet started their own music production and recording studio in Gangnam-Gu, Seoul, South Korea, where they began working on various collaboration projects in the Korean indie and RnB music scene.

Production Style and Equipment

Faekt is known for a music production style that utilizes modern electronic music production methods in a combination with live instruments. Faekt often uses production methods that create a nostalgic "vinyl feel" that has been described as an eclectic blend of soul, R&B, indie, alternative, and jazz[6][7]. His main music production softwares are Logic Pro X and Native Instruments Maschine 2 controlled by a Maschine MK3 groovebox as his main production hardware.
