Fariman Jabbarzadeh (Persian: فریمن جبارزاده); born 21 March 1985) better known by his art name Fariman (Persian: فریمن), is an Iranian Pop singer, Songwriter and Music Producer based in Tehran.
Biography[edit]
He was born in 1985 in Iran. Fariman started his music career as an autodidact in early 2000s by rearranging international pop singers' melodies, in particular Michael Jackson.[1] He learnt piano, guitar and drums in his teens, and started performing as a solo singer at 20. He was among the young generation post-Islamic Revolution musicians to gradually introduce new musical genres in Iran.[2]
In late 2000s, as an Iranian underground music performer [3][4][5], he became increasingly known for his Western pop music style and high quality videos with special effects.[6]
In 2010, Fariman released his first single track “They won't understand” and published his first official music video, featuring professional make-up artists and imported costumes. His next successful single tracks were “Stay with me” featuring the Iranian R&B singer Amir Tataloo, released in 2011, and the commercial hits “Toro ba hameye khoobiat” and “Begoo ba man mimooni”, both released in 2012.
In 2015, Fariman announced that he was going to be the main male character of the movie Santouri 2 by the Iranian famous filmmaker Dariush Mehrjui. [7][8][9][10][11]
After releasing his single track "Bargard" in 2016, Fariman obtained his public permission to release albums from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance [3][12][13]. In 2017, he rearranged Michael Jackson's song "They don't care about us" as a protest against Donald Trump's executive order blocking refugees and travellers with passports from seven Muslim-majority countries.[14][15] The U.S. House Representative Anna Eskamani supported Fariman's track on her social media. [16][17][18] In 2018 he composed the song “Champion” in support of the Iranian national football team at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and in 2020 he released two new single tracks, “To ye marizi baby” and “Never give up”, both produced in cooperation with the American rapper “2Deep the Southern President”.
During COVID-19 lockdown in Iran, Fariman covered Michael Jackson's song "Heal the World" as an encouragement to American and Iranian people to be supportive with each other during COVID-19. At the same time, Fariman started his own fashion business by designing hoodies, t-shirts and hats with a special “Smile” logo, as a symbol of Fariman’s philosophy and lifestyle. [19][20]
In 2022 Fariman worked on a music collaboration with the Italian singer Al Bano on life after Covid, releasing their duet song "Rise from the Fall" on July 3rd.[21][22][23] [24][25]
