Fatima Badran (born November 24, 1998) is a Canadian of Lebanese origin and a candidate for the Liberal Party in the Montcalm riding for the 2025 Canadian federal election.
Early Life and Education
Fatima Badran was born in Montreal, Quebec. She developed a passion for public affairs and international relations from an early age, alongside a strong desire to help improve her community.
She obtained her high school diploma from l’École secondaire Henri-Bourassa before pursuing a Diploma of College Studies in social sciences at Cégep Marie-Victorin. She later earned a bachelor's degree in political science and international relations from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), where she deepened her understanding of global issues and public policy.
One of her most notable academic experiences was participating in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), a United Nations agency that helps 193 countries cooperate on aviation policies. Her delegation won the Best Delegation Award, further reinforcing her interest in diplomacy.
Career
Fatima began her professional career in both the public and private sectors. In September 2022, she joined the office of MP Emmanuel Dubourg, initially as an administrative assistant. She quickly rose to the role of political attaché, where she developed skills in communication, legislative file management, and strategic analysis.
In addition to her political work, she gained valuable leadership and problem-solving experience in supervisory roles at Walmart and Pharmaprix, where she managed teams and handled operational challenges.
Personal Life
Fatima resides in Montreal, Quebec. She was married to Ali Hage on August 3, 2021, whom she met on December 2017 on Facebook. He immigrated to Canada from Lebanon on May 24, 2024.
Fatima is fluent in both English and French, while also speaking Arabic as a native language.
Political Career
Fatima announced her candidacy for the Liberal Party of Canada in the Montcalm (electoral district) for the 2025 Canadian federal election. Her campaign focuses on:
