Fatima Haruna (born August 16, 1986) is a Nigerian Chef, Entrepreneur and Broadcaster.[1] Fatima is the founder of Chef Fatima Nigeria Limited, a culinary school based in the capital city of Nigeria, Abuja and a radio presenter of kitchen republic with Chef Fatima on human right radio 101.1Fm Abuja; a reality radio and television program.[1][2]

Early life[edit]

Fatima was born in Nasarawa local government in Kano State in Nigeria on August 16, 1986.[3] Fatima attended LEA Primary School in Jos and Government Science Secondary Jalingo,[4] obtained diploma in accounting and audit (2008), advanced diploma in Information science (2010) and Bachelors of Arts-Liberary and information science/sociology (2014) in Bayero University Kano. She also attended State University of New York Global Food Initiative for certification in Masters Certified Food Service Professional (MCFP) 2018, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) 2018, Certified HACCP  Professional (CHP) 2018, Certified Culinary Professional (CCN) 2018.[5]

Career[edit]

Fatima is Chef to the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal. In October 2018. She represented Nigeria at West Africa Food Festival culinary competition in; Ghana (2016), South Africa (2017), and Nigeria in 2018. She also led top Abuja Chefs to the 6th Abuja Jabamah, an event put together by Akwaaba African Market to drive domestic tourism in Nigeria.[6][7]

She was featured in pleasures magazine in 2017 as one of the top 100 young entrepreneurs in Africa.[8][9]

Philanthropy and social activism[edit]

She runs a catering academy which has trained over 97,000 people in the areas of food processing, pastry, confectioneries, soups and continental cuisine.[10]
