History
Ferring FC was formed in 1951, and originally played in the Worthing and District Football League.[6] The club progressed through the divisions until, in 1964, they joined the Sussex County Football League.[7] They remained there until the end of the 1971โ72 season, when they joined the West Sussex Football League.[6][7] During this time, they won Division Two South in the 1979โ80 season and, the following season, Division One.[8][9]
Two seasons later, at the end of the 1982โ83 season, the club gained promotion to the newly formed Sussex County Football League Division 3 and subsequently gained promotion to Division 2 at the first attempt.[10] They also won the Division Three Cup that season.[11] After six further seasons, they were relegated back to Division Three at the end of the 1989โ90 season.[10] At the end of the 1992โ93 season, they were relegated to the West Sussex Football League and later joined the Worthing and District Football League.[10][12] At some point during this period, the club was disbanded.[12]
In 2007, a new committee was formed, establishing two senior teams and a youth team, which joined the Worthing and District Football League.[12] In 2010, Ferring were crowned champions of the Worthing and District Football League Premier Division and successfully gained entry into the Sussex County Football League County Division 3.[12][13]
