Folder was an Italian rapcore/nu metal band from Bologna, formed in 1997.
Formed by bassist Alex Fucarino before his death from a car crash in 2000, the band released only one EP, Drastic (1998), and two albums, Keep The Flow (2001) and Right Things (2005).[1] They’re known for their cover of "It's Tricky" by Run-DMC, with Rich Ward and Theron "Bonz" Archie of Stuck Mojo. Additionally, they also provided the intro track for Keep The Flow with a phone-call like recording,[2] and "Drastic" on the same album.
Right Things added a new DJ and bassist, with the jockey being DJ Maick, and Maxx C. on bass.[3] In 2006, one year later after their second and final studio album, the band broke up. Vocalist Mana then joined a new band called Idols Are Dead.[1]
Musical style
Within the underground nu metal scene, Folder has also been labeled as alternative metal, rapcore,[nb 1] and rap metal.[4] Additionally, they’ve been also called a "crossover" band,[5] and even as stated in the intro of Keep the Flow as Rich Ward speaks to Bonz, saying "I think they do, like, the rap rock thing, it's, it's like a crossover band."[6]
