Franklin D. Azar is an American personal injury lawyer based in Colorado.[1][2]
Biography[edit]
Azar was born in Pueblo, Colorado and grew up in Trinidad, CO. While living in Trinidad, Azar worked on a family ranch, the “Saliba Ranch,” located near Walsenburg, CO, mending fences and watering and branding cattle.
Azar obtained Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Colorado in 1979, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver in 1982.
Azar began his legal career serving as the Assistant District Attorney for the Third Judicial District.[3] In 1987, he established Franklin D. Azar & Associates, P.C. with the aim of representing clients by ensuring that they receive full and fair compensation for their injuries, irrespective of the cause.[4][5][6]
Azar helps to curb corporate corruption by actively assisting whistleblowers with enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He has litigated several defective product cases and injury cases, including those against Walmart,[7]Capital One, Meta Platforms, Quora and Riddell Sports.[8][9]
Azar was appointed to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the Multi-District litigation involving DePuy’s faulty Pinnacle hip implants.[10][11]
Philanthropy[edit]
In 2014, Azar set up scholarship fund at Trinidad, Colorado to promote education in his home community.[12] His annual golf tournament, the Azar Invitational, provides academic scholarships for local youths.
