    Free Video Dub is a free video editing program developed by DVDVideoSoft.[1] It is written in C++, and uses .NET Framework for its user interface.

    Overview[edit]

    It is a simple to use [2] program created for trimming of unwanted footage from video files.[3] Free Video Dub is distributed as a part of Free Studio and as a separate download.

    DVDVideoSoft project was launched in 2006. The founders distributed paid software as an affiliate at the beginning, now the company develops and publishes 49 free programs. [4][5]

    Features[edit]

    The program deletes unwanted parts from video files without re-encoding.[6] The original quality of the input video files is preserved.[7] The edited video is saved as a new file.[8]

    MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (.mpg, .mpeg, .ts, .m2ts, .vob), MPEG-4 (.mov, mp4, .qt), FLASH VIDEO (.flv), Matroska (.mkv), AVI (.avi), WMV (.asf, .wmv).[3]

    Operating system support[edit]

    Free Video Dub runs under Windows (XP and above). If the version of .NET Framework installed doesn't meet the minimal requirements, then the setup assistant offers to install it from the Microsoft website.
