GBB (Hangul지비비; an acronym for Gawi Bawi Bo) is a South Korean girl group formed by ProBeat Company and LOUDers Entertainment. GBB debuted on 1 May 2018, with their single titled "Kemi". The band consists of five members that consisted of Doori, Sona, Jini, Cheris and Chaehee.[1][2]

History[edit]

Pre-debut[edit]

Prior to the debut of GBB, members Chaehee, Doori and Jini debuted as Sol-T in 2016 but was disbanded in 2017.[citation needed] Doori made her appearance in a soundtrack for "Borg Mom" in 2017, titled "Can’t We Please, Love".[3] Cheris was born in Singapore, and was casted by SM Entertainment, but rejected the offer. Cheris also played a role in a Singapore drama "Love in Transit, Priority Seat”.[4]

2018: Debut with Girls Be The Best[edit]

GBB debuted with 5 members, with their first mini album "Girls Be The Best" on 1 May 2018. Their title track "Kemi", with a retro concept, was released on Youtube.[5][6] They made their debut performance on Show Champion, one day after their debut alongside various artiste such as GFriend and (G)I-dle.[7][8] They also participated on several music programs to promote the band.

Cheris starred in a Singaporean documentary, aired on Mediacorp titled Greener Pastures.[9]

On October 30, Doori released her digital single and MV, titled "You" on the band's Youtube channel.[10]
