Gabby Bess
Gabby Bess is a magazine writer who interviewed Kanye West for a front-page story in Paper Magazine.[1] [2] Currently, Bess works at Vice magazine.[3]
Bess was born in Portsmouth, Virginia in 1992. Bess completed two years at the College of William and Mary[citation needed] before leaving the school and moving to New York, where she now lives.

Bess founded the zine Illuminati Girl Gang, a feminist zine featuring only female voices.[4]
Bess self-published a book in 2013, Alone with Other People.
Bess was one of nine performers at an event that took place in an art gallery during an evening in 2013.[5] [6]
In 2013, Bess read poems at the 89plus Marathon, an open mic event that was open to any performers born in or after 1989,[7] at Serpentine Galleries during Frieze Art Fair week.[8]

Author Roxane Gay wrote a blurb for the book, included the book in a recommendation list she wrote that was published in The Nation,[9] nominated the book for The Millions' Year in Reading list,[10] and included the book in a "What to Read" list she provided to Salon that was published among other critics' similar lists.[11]
