Gerard Parsons is an Australian soccer referee currently officiating in the Australian A-League and NSW Premier League.
History
Parsons has officiated many games in the NSW Premier League.
Parsons made his refereeing debut in the A-League during the 2009–10 season for the Round 9 game between Gold Coast United and Wellington Phoenix.[1] He has since become a regular referee in the A-League.
On 3 January 2012, Gerard Parsons officiated in a game played at Hindmarsh Stadium between Adelaide United and Wellington Phoenix. Inexplicably, Parsons denied Paul Ifill a penalty after Ifill went to ground following a tackle by Nigel Boogaard. Parsons then booked Daniel Cortez, mistaking the Brazilian midfielder for the Barbadian striker. Daniel's booking was rescinded later in the game, and Ifill was given a yellow card for diving.
When he is not performing referee duties, he is a high school teacher; he has taught at many high schools, including Clancy Catholic College.
