After graduating in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Brescia in 1988 and having completed his military service as “Ufficiale di complemento del Genio” (Military engineering), in 1990 Giuseppe Marino began his career at Iveco.[2] He later obtained a Master from the University of Pisa. He subsequently started working abroad, first at Iveco Ford Truck (England) for five years, and then at Iveco Pegaso (Spain) for three years. [3]
In 1997, he came back to Italy to serve as Director of the Iveco “Transmission and Engines Plant” in Turin. In 2003 he supervised the integration of the German company Iveco Magirus Fire-Fighting. In 2005 he was appointed Vice President of European Operations at Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, an American multinational based in Brussels. He was also Chief Executive Officer of the Italian company Cisa, and Vice President and General Manager of ITO in Turkey.[5]
In 2009 Giuseppe Marino joined the railway company Ansaldo Breda (known today as Hitachi Rail Italy), where he managed the company relaunch. He was later appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the company. [6] In 2015 he became Board Member of Hitachi Rail USA[7] and, after the sale from Finmeccanica, he managed the company integration into the Japanese multinational Hitachi.
In 2018 he was appointed Group Chief Operating Officer at Hitachi Rail Rolling Stock, where he took over the operational responsibility for all the company’s global rolling stock activities.[8]
In 2019 he became Corporate Officer of Hitachi Ltd. Tokyo. In October of the same year he was appointed Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Ansaldo Energia,[9] a company owned by Cdp Equity and Shanghai Electric. In November 2020, during a live streaming event, he presented the most powerful H class gas turbine ever built in Italy by Ansaldo Energia. The gas turbine was produced for the Edison Power Plant in Porto Marghera.[10][11]
