Glenealy School is a coeducational, non-profit, independent preparatory school located in Mid Levels, Hong Kong.[1][2][3] It is part of the English Schools Foundation (ESF).[4] The school provides places for 360 children from within the residential area of Mid Levels.[4]. It follows the IB PYP Curriculum[5][6]
History
Glenealy School was founded as the May Road School in January 1959. It was built due to overcrowding at Peak School and Quarry Bay School.[7] It was renamed Glenealy Junior School by its first headmistress, Doreen Handyside[8][9] with 11 classes and 14 staff.[10] Originally located on Kennedy Road, the school was temporarily housed at the Victoria Barracks, Hong Kong in Admiralty after demolition in 1982. It was moved to a purpose-built site on Hornsey Road in 1989. The former site would later be turned into Hong Kong Park[11] [12]. It continues to be one of the smallest primary schools in the ESF.[13]
From 1990 to 2001, the school was the home of Ambassador International Church [14]

Glenealy School is accredited, authorized, or a member of the following organizations:
