Goat Yoga

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Goat yoga is the practice of yoga with goats.[1] While specific formats may vary, goat yoga classes are held outside and generally follow a traditional yoga class structure with vinyasa flows, balance exercises, stretching and savasana. Social goats engage with and wander around participants, sometimes laying on mats or walking through legs.[1]

Classes[edit]

Goat yoga classes started with two distinct styles from Arizona and Oregon. Lainey Morse started Goat Yoga classes in Oregon after the idea was introduced by Heather Davis. Davis, a yoga instructor, thought Lainey's farm would be the perfect backdrop to practice yoga.[2] Arizona Goat Yoga owner April Gould trained with her Nigerian Dwarf Goats for several years before appearing on American Ninja Warrior Season 7. She trained the goats to go on her back while she did various exercises such as push-ups, planks, and squats.[3][4] She then started Arizona Goat Yoga in a side pasture of her home partnering with Sarah Williams, a fitness yoga instructor.[5]
