Kim Ji-ho (Hangul: 김지호; born April 4, 1997),[1] known professionally as Jiho, is a South Korean singer and actress. She is a former member of the South Korean girl group Oh My Girl.[2] She left WM Entertainment and the group on May 9, 2022.[3] On August 10, 2022, she signed an exclusive contract with P&Studio under the name of Gong Jiho.[4]
Career[edit]
2015–2022: Oh My Girl[edit]
On April 20, 2015, Jiho debuted as a member of Oh My Girl.[5][6] She had signed with WM Entertainment in 2011, meaning she was the second longest trainee before debut.[7] She first performed their debut single "Cupid" on SBS MTV's The Show on April 21.[8][9] She has been in a number of music videos as well as been featured in some noticeable Korean magazines including THE STAR and Y Magazine.[10]
2022-present: Start of acting career[edit]
On May 9, 2022, WM Entertainment released news that Jiho had decided not to renew her contract with the agency and therefore left Oh My Girl. She announced that she would continue to support her group members as a 'Miracle' (the term given to fans of Oh My Girl) and to better herself in her future endeavors.[11] On August 10, 2022, it was announced on P&Studio's Instagram that Jiho had signed an exclusive contract with them and would be focusing on her promotions as an actress under the new stage name Gong Jiho.[12]
