Google Tech Mela
Google Tech Mela (Sindhi: گُوگَلِ ٽيڪ ميلو) was the first kind of Technology fair in Pakistan. The biggest online shopping gala, which was the first of its type in the country's growing E-commerce market and was being supported by Google. Tech Mela was scheduled to take place in the biggest city of Pakistan and the capital of Sindh, the city of lights Karachi from September 10 to September 20, 2015. The trend of getting online and using smartphones by Pakistanis is rapidly growing. A research survey by TNS shows that there are about 30 Million online users in Pakistan half among them are present on Mobile devices.[1] The Big-G is grouping with e-commerce partner Daraz.pk owned by Kaymu Pakistan. The Tech Mela was being arranged to promote e-commerce in Pakistan; a unique type of shopping festival was concentrated on offering exclusive deals and discounts of up to 30% on smartphones, gadgets, and data and voice plans that would only be available online during the fair. Daraz.pk had decided to launch six new mobile phones in this event. Top 15 manufacturers of the mobile phone industry launched the latest products and offered the best buying deals. Google supported this event as the mobile phone industry has gotten a boost because of 3g/4g launch in Pakistan, and the 3g/4g subscribers got over 13 million in April 2015, including the market estimates for 40 million smartphones in the market until December 2015 and 2016 based on the current trends.[2][3][4]
