Greenside Primary School (South Africa), is a coeducational state school situated in Polokwane Ext 44 in the Limpopo province of South Africa. The school was personally officiated by the former president of the Republic of South Africa, Kgalema Motlanthe.[2]

The school was blessed with an appearance from Ndavi Nokeri after she was crowned Miss South Africa 2022 as she kicked off her homecoming tour,[3] and handed out gift packs to grade 6 and grade 7 female students.[4][5]

History[edit]

Greenside Primary School was established on the 29th of April 2009 by the former president of the Republic of South Africa, Kgalema Motlanthe. He was accompanied by the Premier of Limpopo Mr. Cassel Mathale, Minister of Finance Trevor Manuel, Minister of Education Naledi Pandor and MEC for Education Dr Aaron Motsoaledi.[2]

Before the school was established in 2009, it was the aggregate of Kabelo Combined School together with the secondary school which is now known individually as Kabelo Secondary School, neighboring the primary school.

The founding principal of the school is madam M.R Moto, she opened the school in 2009 and acted as the principal up until May 2012, and left the school in 2013.[6] She was succeeded by the late Mr. P Ramaphakela who maintained the sit from 2013 to the day he passed in 2020. Under Ramaphakela's supervision the school was highly praised and managed to achieve remarkable accolades through out his principal period.[7]
