Guillermo Scherping (born November 6, 1989), better known as Guille Scherping, is a Chilean music producer and musician. His catalog includes works with various exponents of the music industry in Chile.

First years

He started his musical career at the age of 16, as a guitarist, keyboardist and arranger for the band Santaferia. Later, he joined the group Moral Distraída as a musician, becoming their current musical director and producer of all their works for the last 6 years.

In addition to the role of producer, musical director, instrumentalist and singer, Scherping has a degree in Exact Sciences from Universidad de Chile, with a postgraduate degree in Sound Art from the same college.

Musical career

His catalog includes works with many exponents of the music industry of Chile, like Denise Rosenthal, Moral Distraída, Santaferia, Los Vásquez, La Combo Tortuga, Liricistas, among others.[1]

Thanks to his work as a producer for Moral Distraída, Scherping obtained recognition from specialized critics, especially for the band's most recent record "Qué Cosa Es El Amor"[2], joining the hit singles "Hacerlo De Día", "Canción Bonita", "Probarlo Todo". "Rico Rico", single that featured the collaboration of the band with Denise Rosenthal and Los Vásquez,[3] was awarded in the Musa Awards, in the category "National Collaboration of the Year" in 2020.[4]

In his work with Chilean singer Denise Rosenthal, his participation as producer and co-composer of the song "Lucha En Equilibrio" stands out. The song was positioned in the main musical charts of 2020,[5] despite being released in 2017.

Nowadays, Guillermo Scherping is currently exploiting his role as producer, highlighting his latest work in the production of Santaferia's most recent record "Cumbia Casera", in which he also participated as a composer in some songs.[6]
