In South Korea, a merger of the People's(Gukmin) and Bareun political parties was proposed in 2017. Additionally, on the province level, there was a formal coalition parliamentary group in Gyeonggi Province. They named new party as Bareunmirae Party. Opponents in Bareun Party left Bareun and returned to Liberty Korea Party. Opponents in People's party made Party for Democracy and Peace.
