HIMMAT SINGH PANWAR, also known as HIMMAT SINGH, is a Fashion, Interior, and Accessories designer. Born on January 14, 1979, in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. In March 2000, at the age of 21, he launched his designer studio STUDIO HIMMAT[1], where he designs menswear, womenswear, and kidswear couture. In 2019, he was honored with the Dadaahib Phalke Award for best creative designer. He has also officially been chosen for designing over 2000 costumes for the movie "Bucks of America".[2]

Early life

Singh's father, Lt. Shree Shankar Singh Panwar, was in the tailoring business (Label S.P. Tailor) which gave him the opportunity to understand measurements, pattern making, and tailoring. Sir Shankar Singh had made outfits for many renowned personalities, including Mr. Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, and many more. After his death, Singh was inspired to take his legacy forward and thus, launched STUDIO HIMMAT in March 2000, with only six handicraft artisans.

He innovates within a space where the ethnicity is not in any way jeopardized. He is committed to promoting the original silhouettes, embellishments, designs, skills, cuts, and fabrics of traditional Rajasthan, and is widely recognized for promoting his culture at an international level.
