Hajia Hama Ali Muhammad (née Aware; born April 1979) is a Nigerian public administrator, and Director General of Kano Investment Promotion Agency (KanInvest) appointed by Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR on October 26 2022 [1]
Early life and education[edit]
Hama Ali Muhammad was born in Kano in April 1979. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Nasarawa State University and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), a professional accountancy association with regulatory authority in Nigeria.[2]
Career[edit]
Hajiya Hama worked at United Bank for Africa (multinational pan-African financial services group) for close to two decades, and left the Institution as a branch manager to join Nigeria Security Printing and Minting (the Nigerian banknote printer and mint) where she was designated as the Sales and Marketing lead between 2016 and 2018.[2] In 2019, she was appointed as the Special Adviser to the Governor of Kano State on Foreign Investment and Diaspora.[3] In October 2020, she was announced as the Director General of Kano Investment Promotion Agency (KanInvest).[4]
Under her leadership, Kano Investment Promotion Agency has recorded monumental strides and successes that have redefined and placed Kano state at an enviable height. She has led several strategic activities and engagements that has ushered in significant investments for the economic progress and development of Kano State.[5][6][7][8][9]
Hajia Hama Aliyu Muhammad is a board member of a number of government organisations including Kano State Primary Healthcare Management, Kano State Ultra-Modern Specialist Hospitals (KUSH) - Muhammadu Buhari Specialist Hospital and Khalifa Sheikh Isyaku Rabi'u Paediatric Hospital.[10]
