Hamish Walter Hyslop Maxwell (24 August 1926 – 19 April 2014) was a British-born American businessman who served as a chief executive officer (CEO) of Philip Morris International.[1][2]
Life and career[edit]
Maxwell was born in 24 August 1926 in Liverpool, England.[3] He was educated at the University of Cambridge.[4]
From 1984 to 1991, Maxwell served as the CEO of Philip Morris and was succeeded by Michael A. Miles.[5][6] After a successful career at Philips Morris, he joined WPP plc and served as the chairperson for more than five years.[7]
In 1987, he was included in the Fortune list.[8]
