Career
Club
He was born in Netherlands in 1957 and started his career with Dronigen before he moved to bigger club Spartax. He stayed with Spartax until 1984 playing also in the Mini European Nations Cup, an international club competition in France. Grutter impressed there with his team and Joe Pearson asked for his availability. Once he founded out he was available for transfer, Riverton United signed him immediately and Grutter moved to England in a swap deal including young striker Paul Slade. He was always fan of English football but when he heard about United’s interest he consulted Arnold Muhren and Frans Thijssen who gave him the go ahead. Grutter was dreaming to play with United at Wembley which happened in 1985.
International
