Healing Hotels of the World (HHoW) is a global hospitality brand with member hotels and resorts focussed on holistic health and wellbeing.[1] The company is owned by CEO and Co-Founder Anne Biging[2] and CCO and Co-Founder Dr. Elisabeth Ixmeier.[3]

History[edit]

Healing Hotels of the World launched in 2006 at the ITB Berlin trade fair. The company started with six hotels, including the founding member hotels Ananda in the Himalayas in India and Kamalaya Koh Samui in Thailand.[4][5]

By 2011, Healing Hotels of the World numbered about 60 member hotels. With its headquarters in Cologne, Germany, HHoW set up new offices in New York City, Italy and Asia. Healing Hotels of the World currently has around 90 member hotels worldwide and several international partnerships.[6]

Business Model[edit]

Healing Hotels of the World is a global brand for hotels committed to holistic health and healing. Member hotels receive support in marketing, consulting, inspections and sales and have to comply with a criteria catalogue. The established list of standards measures the quality of the hotel and health services offered and covers topics such as atmosphere, cuisine and holistic therapies.[7][8]

Healing Concierge[edit]

The Healing Concierge represents the online contact service which customers can use for enquiries or to submit requests indicating their healing focus or their preferred region.[9]

Just Breathe Mag[edit]

In 2014, HHoW expanded its platform and created Just Breathe Mag, an online magazine committed to holistic health. Topics include holistic wellbeing, sustainability, mindfulness, alternative medicine and healthy eating.[10]

HEALING SUMMIT[edit]

The HEALING SUMMIT is an annual conference created and organized by Healing Hotels of the World. The guests and speakers are business people in the field of health and wellbeing, representatives of member hotels and private individuals with an interest in sustainable business practices, health and wellbeing.

The first HEALING SUMMIT in 2014 took place in Berlin. In 2019, the conference moved from Berlin to a Healing Hotels of the World member hotel in Portugal. Moderated by five-time Billboard Magazine Award winner Valerie Smaldone, guests at the event can exchange, debate and listen to international speakers who present their holistic perspectives.[11][12]
