Khon Kaen MICE Tourism is the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) industry in khon Kaen, Thailand.

In 2013, Khon Kaen province administration signed MoU with Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) (public organization) to develop Khon Kaen as a 'MICE City' in accordance with their 4-year Provincial Development Plan (2014-2017).[1] Khon Kaen is the 5th MICE city in Thailand to sign such an agreement. The first four MICE cities are Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket and Chiang Mai.[2] Statistics of meetings, incentives and international exhibitions in Thailand in 2012 by TCEB, valued the Khon Kaen MICE industry at 343 million baht.[1][3]

In 2011, Khon Kaen was included in 'IBM Smarter Cities Challenge', IBM's largest philanthropic initiative to develop the city as a MICE hub. In 2013, IBM with the help of provincial government of Khon Kaen provided innovative solutions for traffic and public safety management.[4]

International MICE Events[edit]

Khon Kaen has organized some of the major international MICE events like: the APEC Ministerial Meeting, the International Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Thai-ASEAN Trade Fair.
